TROUBLES OCULOMOTEURS DANS LES PLAGIOCÉPHALIES

Résumé : La plagiocéphalie est une craniosténose qui s'accompagne d'une
déformation asymétrique du crâne par fermeture prématurée d'une suture coronale.
Les troubles oculomoteurs sont fréquents; ce sont des strabismes verticaux. L'étiologie
la plus vraisemblable semble être l'impotence du muscle Grand Oblique qui s'insère sur
un toit orbitaire plus étroit dû à la plagiocéphalie.
Le traitement reste chirurgical.

Summary : Plagiocephaly is an asymetry of all the bony structures of the faces and
skull, resulting from an early closure of one half the coronal suture.
Ocular deviation are freguent, it's vertical strahismus. Etiology seems to he superior
oblique muscle crippled because the roof of the orbit is foreshortened.
Treatment is surgical.
