Résumé : Après chirurgie du décollement de la rétine, un trouble de la
motilité oculaire apparaît toujours chez les patients présentant une base sensorielle
anormale. Lorsqu'existe une base sensorielle normale, les interventions multiples, le
traitement des désinsertions rétiniennes causent des diplopies nécessitant un
traitement par prismation et même chirurgical.
Les cerclages sont à l'origine d'exotropie par décompensation d'une exophorie,
secondaire à une déviation verticale discrète.
Les indentations au voisinage de l'insertion du grand oblique peuvent causer des
déviations verticales nécessitant une prismation.

Summary : After retinal detachment surgery, there is always a disturbance of eye
motility in patients with abnormal binocular single vision. In patients with normal
binocular single vision, several surgical interventions, treatment of retinal dialysis
cause diplopia requiring prism therapy and squint operation.
Encircling procedures cause exotropia in patients with preexisting heterophoria. Buckling
procedures in the vicinity of insertion of the superior oblique may cause vertical
deviation requiring prism therapy.
