Résumé : Nous traitons le strabisme et l'amblyopie dès leur apparition. Nous le dépistons grâce au "Visiodisk" et à l'"Ecran caché" de FATEH. Par HELVESTON nous savons que le strabisme dit "congénital" n'existe généralement pas à la naissance ni dans les trois jours suivants. Par contre des déviations anarchiques disparaissent en 6 mois. Ces déviations qui s'arrangent toutes seules masquent la survenue de vrais strabismes convergents probablement dus à la suraccommodation du bébé. Il fixe ses doigts donc très prés en rapport avec la " distance de HARMON". Ces strabismes précoces restent ignorés pour la plupart, et non traités. Ils sont découverts vers 9 mois au encore plus tard. Les traitements médicaux sont alors longs et difficiles. Restent parfois la chirurgie et mieux la lutte pour une prophylaxie qui permet le traitement précoce : notre but final.

Summary : We treat squint as well as amblyopic cases as soon as they appear or are detected. Detection is made possible in very young patients by the use of the "Visiodîsk" helped by the "inapparent occluder" of Sina FATEH. Following the work of HELVESTON we know that the so-called congenital strabismus is not present at birth nor in the first day of life. In this small span one can find variable and unsteady deviations mainly exo which usually disappear following the next six months. This spontaneous "orthophorisation" may conceal the onset of a convergent squint, possibibly due to the over accommodation af the baby looking at his hand. By adapting HARMON's distance to the infant child we find a measure of 6 cm (elbow to thumb). These 6 cm are the near vision distance of the baby. These early squints are usually missed and not treated from the start. They are diagnosed around 9 months or later. At this time medical treatments are time taking and difficult. We have to persevere, maybe to use surgery and to fight relentlessly for an early diagnosis and therefore a real early medical treatment which is our ultimate aim.
