Résumé : Le synoptophore fait partie intégrante de tout bilan orthoptique. Cet outil formidable permet de déterminer le sens de la déviation, de la quantifier objectivement et subjectivement. La correspondance rétinienne peut quant à elle être définie et l'assise de la vision binoculaire peut être testée. Il s'intègre parfaitement également dans la prise en charge rééducative des troubles oculomoteurs sous tendant une correspondance cortico rétinienne normale. De ce fait, on ne peut ignorer son existence et son utilisation dans un cadre orthoptique de bonne qualité.

Summary : Synoptophore takes place in every complete orthoptic examination. This marvellous tool allows to determinate the direction of the deviation, and to quantify it, objectively and subjectively. Retinal correspondence can be defined and the seating of the binocular vision can be tested.  It fits perfectly as weil in the management of reeducation of ocular motility disturbances when the cortico-retinal correspondance is normal. Therefore, everyone has to know its existence and use for a good quality orthoptic examination.
